Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item

Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item

  Sorry - I didn't post Day 6 on time so I'm paying catch-up now!

For me, my most treasured item is my planner.  I finally upgraded to one which zips so my items are a little more safe and won't fall out/get lost as easily.
My planner is my life - I keep everything in there as you are about to see...

This is what most of my co-workers see when I open my planner for our weekly meeting.  The basics - a day planner and a few post-it notes with what looks like a bunch of junk crammed in.

When you pull the pile out you will first find... photos of my beautiful godchildren.  I need to add ones with my newest goddaughter.  You'll also notice my awesome passport which has gotten me into Guatemala.  I have to get a new one next year which makes me sad.
In the top left corner is my most prized possession - a post card my father sent to me on one of his business trips.  A tradition I've started with my godchildren.  Just a quick note to show you are thinking of someone and love them.
I also decorate the cover and inside of every planner I have with postsecret.com secrets that touch me.
Digging a little deeper... inside behind my passport you will find a letter from my godson Colton thanking me for a visit along with photos of some of my staff from a recent dance, a photo of my mother and me from our Christmas adventure to South Carolina and a photo of my best friend Alexis and I in GA - the weekend I graduated from Grad School.

Beneath all of those photos and the card are more cards - the green envelope covers three cards my best friend Stephen has given me over the years.  He doesn't write a lot of cards so it means a lot when he does give them.  The card in the front middle is from my Youth Group when I left for Grad School in NC.  The card behind it with the flower is one of my favorite cards I received from the boy in the previous post.  Finally, the letters are from my friend Q who was serving in Iraq and the other is from one of my former students.

The last part of my planner is the inside.  All the notes, the post cards telling me what race I have this month and a book mark from a former program I worked for/with and can't seem to let go of.

I am not always the most organized person when it comes to my life but my planner keeps all my secrets, my personal remembrances and items I deem important.
So now you know another layer of me. : )
