Day 2 - A picture of the person you have been closest with for the longest

"The person I have been closest with the longest" is actually two people for me.  My best friend Ashlie and her oldest son Corey.
Corey is my godson and the light of my life.  I met him when he was 4.  My two first memories of him (I tease him about them) are 1) when he lied and told me his mom's birthday was the next day (we were just becoming friends) and I spent the whole night trying to plan her birthday (her birthday was about 2 months prior) and 2) the first time we rode The Comet at Hershey Park - I hugged him because I survived my first roller coaster and he looked at me and said "please don't do that again" and I got so embarrassed.  Eventually he learned to accept my hugs. : )
Corey is now almost 18, at least a foot taller than me and will be graduating high school in just over a year.  I can't believe I've been in his life for over 14 years!  He has made my life much more exciting, fun and filled with love.
Ashlie became my best friend almost instantly.  We worked together at a day care and started hanging out because my roommate chose to see "Titanic" with her then boyfriend (now husband) rather than wait for me.  She asked Ashlie if she'd seen it and when Ashlie said "no" she said we should go together.  After that, we pretty much became inseparable.
Ashlie is one of the few people who can truly say they "know me."  She has seen me at my worst and best and been with me through my worst and best.  She has stood by my side and never wavered in her support for me - even when I didn't deserve it and especially when I shouldn't have received it.  She is closer to me than anyone else probably ever will be and I'm thankful that we met and that she is in my life.

Through our friendship I've become Corey's sole godmother and a shared godmother of her three other children (all in the photo - she's hiding her pregnant belly).  I love them all so very much and am very blessed to have them in my life.  I can't imagine my life without her and her loving family in it nor do I ever want to.
It is my hope that some day I will have children of my own that she can be a godmother to and they can know the love that I'd been able and blessed to give her children.
